The Nucleus business and innovation centre provides 30,000 sq ft of instant, virtual and flexible office space. Designed to help pioneering science and technology companies reach their full potential and to provide more general commercial services for local organisations, the Nucleus forms part of a UK network of centres operated by Oxford Innovation.
Tours accurate at time of creation.Alex joined Oxford Innovation in March 2007 and has responsibilities for business development, innovation centre management, innovation support service delivery and consultancy. Previously, he was an Executive Director of St John’s Innovation Centre Ltd, a world-renowned centre that provides flexible accommodation and a supportive environment to early-stage, knowledge-based businesses. He has a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Cambridge, worked in materials research and development for five years before branching out into the support of innovation, entrepreneurship and the commercialisation of new knowledge.
Kelly joined the CEME Innovation Centre team in November 2008 and is responsible for sales, marketing and operations at CEME Innovation Centre and now, The Nucleus. She has 11 years sales and marketing experience from working within one of the UK’s largest regional newspaper groups prior to moving into the serviced office industry. Having previously managed business and innovation centres in South London and Kent she is passionate about her role and enjoys leading a team to deliver an excellent level of service to her clients.
Jayne has been working at the centre since March 2007, and is continuing her good work there now for Oxford Innovation. Prior to working at The Nucleus she worked for Thames Gateway Chamber of Commerce Department helping with administration for businesses old and new. Jayne enjoys the atmosphere and camaraderie of working within the centre as well as meeting new people on a daily basis. In her free time she enjoys eating out, reading, knitting, gardening and going to the cinema.
Likes: cats, jewelry especially gem stones, family time.
Dislikes: that Sunday night feeling, ironing, Gordon Brown.
Katie began working for Oxford Innovation in November 2009, before this she worked in retail for Accessorize in Bluewater shopping centre. She most enjoys meeting and greeting new people to the centre. She loves shopping, dancing and socializing with friends. Katie also confesses to secretly finding animated comedy ‘Family Guy’ very funny despite insisting she doesn’t like it.
Likes: Nando’s, shoes, dancing.
Dislikes: cats, shepherd’s pie, rain.
Dawn is one of the newest members of the Oxford Innovation team, she joined on the 1st November 2009 and is based at The Nucleus in Dartford. Like most of the team she enjoys meeting the different people involved with the Centre. In her spare time she likes to spend time with family and friends, and look after her three kittens.
Likes: cooking, reading, socialising.
Dislikes: spiders, being cold, football.
The Nucleus business and innovation centre has been built at the heart of The Bridge, a major new centre for knowledge-based industries providing over 1 million sq ft of office, science and technology space in the Thames Gateway.
