Mick began working for Oxford Innovation in April 2003. Before starting life at OI Mick worked in a variety of sales and business development positions in fields such as electrical equipment, property, computer software and general DIY. He states that the most enjoyable aspect of his position is the ever changing challenges he has to respond to, “I enjoy problem solving and the buzz from resolving a client’s issues”. Mick has many hobbies outside of work including, gardening and DIY, photography, spending time with his wife and daughter, motorcycling (weather permitting), eating out and a bit of TV. Interestingly Mick did not see himself being involved in business, he trained for five years as a dental technician, and decided two years after completing his apprenticeship that he needed more interaction with people, and the rest they say is history.
Rita joined Oxford Innovation in July 2003 as an administrator in the Wellingborough Innovation Centre. Rita says that the best thing about working for Oxford Innovation is the variety of challenges that she faces, that you can only experience working within a thriving Innovation Centre. Her previous employment was within a footwear company R Griggs & Co. In her spare time Rita claims to do “lots”, including cooking, cleaning, walking and gardening.
Jane began working for Oxford Innovation in April 2004, at the Wellingborough Innovation Centre. She used to work for her husband, but now juggles the two jobs. She also used to work part-time for Mars confectionary. Jane loves nothing more about her job than meeting and greeting clients and visitors, as well as resolving problems. Jane spends her spare time helping out with her husbands business, and she also likes to decorate, socialize and spend time with her grandson.
