One of Oxford Innovation’s specialist areas is Innovation Centres which are different to business centres and offices with managed workspace. They provide companies with a professional environment to grow along with a range of business support services they are likely to need during the first vital years of operation. Oxford Innovation manages a network of Innovation Centres across the UK, providing space to innovate start-up companies and entrepreneurs. Science Parks are also important tools in the commercialisation of research, helping to link universities and other research institutes to businesses
Planning Obligations in the form of Section 106 agreements are an important part of the planning system and developers are taking steps to reduce the impact of their planned developments. This can be done in a variety of ways but not all are suitable in a business environment. Oxford Innovation can provide advice, guidance and commercially viable solutions through the management of Innovation Centres to help obtain planning consent by supporting communities, encouraging economic growth and subsequently reducing the impact of any proposed developments.
Oxford Innovation were commissioned by Technium CAST/OpTIC to undertake a study on the viability of introducing a virtual incubation service to the existing range of support activities on offer through two centres. Technium CAST/OpTIC wished to establish what approaches to virtual incubation are open to them, strategies for virtual incubation in other EU regions, and the projected financial impacts of adopting any particular model.
