One of Oxford Innovation’s specialist areas is innovation centres which are different to business centres and offices with managed workspace. They provide companies with a professional environment to grow along with a range of business support services they are likely to need during the first vital years of operation. Oxford Innovation manages 13 Innovation Centres across the UK, providing space to innovate start-up companies and entrepreneurs. Science Parks are also important tools in the commercialisation of research, helping to link universities and other research institutes to businesses
Oxford Innovation were commissioned by Technium CAST/OpTIC to undertake a study on the viability of introducing a virtual incubation service to the existing range of support activities on offer through two centres. Technium CAST/OpTIC wished to establish what approaches to virtual incubation are open to them, strategies for virtual incubation in other EU regions, and the projected financial impacts of adopting any particular model.
