Saïd Business School

Established in 1996, Oxford University’s Saïd Business School is one of Europe’s youngest and most entrepreneurial business schools, with a reputation for innovative business education. The School combines the highest standards of academic rigour with a practical understanding of business and wealth creation. Our faculty are engaged in boundary-extending research on key management issues, in dialogue with the wider intellectual community and with practitioners.

The Saïd Business School building, designed by Dixon and Jones, the architects responsible for the Royal Opera House in London, opened in 2001 in the centre of Oxford. In design it brings together over three millennia of academic tradition, from its classical amphitheatre, to the mosque-like columns, medieval cloisters, four horseshoe style lecture theatres, 300 seat traditional style auditorium (opened by Nelson Mandela in 2002) and its contemporary interpretation of the traditional dreaming spire.

Science Oxford

Science Oxford Networks supports the growth and development of Oxfordshire’s high-tech economy by pioneering initiatives, researching and communicating useful information and building links between business, education and the public.

Over the last 20 years Science Oxford has developed a range of innovative projects, a number of which are now delivered by others. It played a pioneering role in the development of both innovation centres for the incubation of high-tech companies and in the creation of venture angel networks such as the Oxfordshire Investment Opportunity Network. Oxford Innovation, our own spin-out company, is widely recognised as a leading provider of services to the knowledge-based economy.

Science Oxford has also played a major role in the field of education and public engagement. In the early 1990’s Science Oxford created Oxfordshire Science Festival which is going from strength to strength and instigated innovative science programmes for schools. In 2005, Science Oxford opened Oxford’s first cultural centre for science and enterprise in St Clements.
