Success at the London Motorsport Show

The Silverstone Innovation Centre together with the Learning Grid, Motorsport Academy and EEMS (Energy Efficient Motorsport) took the stand at the Future of Motorsport Zone at the London Motorsport Show this weekend at Excel in Londons Docklands. The Innovation Centre was there to promote the services and facilities of the Centre at Silverstone and at the new ITC Centre in Sheffield. Visitors to the stand were also introduced to the Silverstone Innovation Centre Design Challenge and 11 – 16 yr olds were invited to take part in the Silverstone Innovation Centre Mini Design Challenge: 26 children registered to take part over the two days and those that took part were asked to build a structure out of newspaper and sellotape – the tallest structure that held the weight of a tennis ball for 3 seconds won a fantastic Scalextric Digital racetrack provided by Scalextric who are supporters of the Challenge. Photos of the show will be posted shortly on our new website which should be up and running by the end of ths month. At the show we were able to approach several companies with a view to providing further support and prizes for the Design Challenge. These will be announced in due course. I will say that we now have some fantastic offers of support and the prizes we have to offer are amazing. Keep watching this webpage for more updates.
