Position: Network Manager – Special Projects and Support
Reporting to: Director of Investment Networks
Background
Our Business Angel Networks offer access to over 125 active investors that include high net worth individuals, funds and corporate ventures. The three networks – Oxford Early Investments, Thames Valley Investment Network and Oxford Investment Opportunity Network help growing companies raise capital from £25k to £1.5 million plus.
Oxford Innovation also offers support for companies preparing applications for research and development grants – which typically range from £75k to £400k.
Role focus
This new role is an exciting opportunity to work within a energetic and rewarding business development environment. The main focus of the role is to identify high net worth individuals, funds and corporate ventures who have the potential to become investors in start-up companies looking to raise finance. This role will involve working with a team consisting of the Director of Investment Networks, two Network Managers who run the OION, TVIN and OEI networks, and the Networks Administrator.
Overall Responsibilities
- Networking and building successful relationships with potential investors
- Management of Investment, Syndicate and Sponsorship Development Programmes
- Launching the forthcoming Corporate Venturing Forum
- Relationship with, tracking of and responsibility for promoting Innovation Services and Centre to our Co-Investment Companies
- Working with the Innovation Advisory Service as appropriate, including client visits
Person specification
- A confident and personable individual able to mix with all types of people and to provide a professional public image of OI
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Experience of developing business relationships and processes
- Tenacity and persistence
- Faultless attention to detail
- Team-worker
- Degree (or equivalent) level education
- Background within a marketing, business development or fundraising environment
- Own car and clean driving license (mileage allowance will be payable)
